An Important Message to Applicants for Grade 10 at Harry Ainlay School for 2016/17
Dear Students and Parents,
Thank you for your interest in attending Harry Ainlay School for the 2016-2017 school year.
Full for Students Entering Grade 10 Next Year
This year’s pre-enrolment process has resulted in unprecedented interest in our school. As of April 13, our school has already received more requests for enrolment than we have space to accommodate. In fact, we are already at our capacity with students who live in the attendance area and who are guaranteed admission based on the sibling rule or acceptance into one of our District centre programs.
The only students who will be able to attend Grade 10 at Harry Ainlay School for 2016-2017 include:
Pre-enrolment closes at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 15
If Harry Ainlay is your designated high school, or if you are guaranteed admission because of any of the factors identified above, you do not need to do anything. Students who currently attend Harry Ainlay can stay at the school for 2016-2017, even if it is not their designated school.
If Harry Ainlay is not your designated high school, you will not be eligible to attend the school for Grade 10 unless you have a sibling returning to the school or you have selected the school to continue your French Immersion or Interactions programming.
You can select any other high school, as long as the school has space. Please note that Lillian Osborne School is experiencing the same enrolment pressures and will only be able to accommodate students who live in their attendance area, or who have a sibling who will be continuing at the school for the 2016-2017 school year.
To change your preferred high school for 2016-2017, change your selection in SchoolZone, or contact your current school, before 4 p.m. on April 15. If you do not select a different school by 4 p.m. on April 15, your choice of schools will be limited to your designated high school, or any other school that still has space.
We understand this news may be disappointing to students and their families who were hoping to attend Harry Ainlay School. If you have any questions, please contact the school office at 780-413-2700.
