U of A Career Centre summer career campMay 27, 2016 – Calliing all students with career questions! From July 4 to July 8, the University of Alberta Career Centre is holding a summer career camp for students who will be in Grade 10, 11, 12 or post-grade 12 this upcoming fall.Participants from last summer’s camp experienced a 20 per cent increase in optimism about their career, a 65 per cent increase in knowledge about researching careers and a 71 per cent increase in identifying next steps in their career. Al Hamilton Scholarship The Al Hamilton Scholarship is named after one of our great Oilers, Al Hamilton, who is a community pillar, and played on both the Oil Kings and the Oilers. He was our captain and a great defenceman in his era. The Al Hamilton Scholarship is awarded annually to a student from the Greater Edmonton area for excellence in academics, athletics and community service. Value of this scholarship is $2000 per school year to a maximum of four (4) years equalling out to $8000. Students presently enrolled at Ainlay will be able to pick up their copies in the rotunda at lunch on Thursday Oct. 8th and Friday Oct. 9th. HASTEStudents and staff involved in the Harry Ainlay Sustainability Team have completed a two year long project to transform the SE courtyard into a garden. The courtyard garden will provide fresh foodstuffs to the culinary arts program, will provide teachers with additional classroom space, and will be open to students for lunch in the warmer months. The garden is composed of three perennial garden beds that support the growth of fruits, berries, and a flower garden. The garden also features a self-watering annual garden bed that will grow lettuce, tomatoes, and other traditional garden vegetables.
